- Holy Cross' all-time winningest coach. He had the longest head coaching stint in NCAA history at one major college (22 seasons) before leaving willingly for a similar job with another Division I school
- Assistant coach at Rhode Island under Jerry DeGregorio for one season in 2000-01, and at Connecticut under Jim Calhoun for 11 seasons from 2001-02 through 2011-12
- All-Americans (one): Holy Cross' Ronnie Perry (1977, 1978 and 1979)
- Major-college career playing statistics under Roy Leenig (13.1 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 44.2 FG%, 71.7 FT%). Fourth-round NBA draft choice of the New York Knicks in 1961 (33rd pick overall) averaged 3.3 ppg, 1 rpg and 1.3 apg with them in one season in 1961-62.
