- Bethune-Cookman's all-time winningest basketball coach
- Split end caught 85 passes for 1,253 yards and three touchdowns in six years with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1955 through 1960. Selected in the 26th round of 1953 NFL draft. Played in Pro Bowl after finishing third in the NFL in pass receptions with 46 in 1957.
