Granted, it's two years removed because of 2020 pandemic cancellation. But Auburn became the 36th school since the NCAA Tournament field expanded to at least 48 teams in 1980 to fail to qualify for the NCAA playoffs the ensuing tourney after advancing to the national semifinals.
