Length of Pact Doesn't Mean Squat to Numerous Coaches Such As Holtmann

Deal or no deal? The length of contracts doesn't seem to carry any weight as a factor in the equation as long as your brain cells or ethical standards don't put any stock into length of an existing pact. For instance, Virginia Commonwealth has had three coaches in the last 12 campaigns abandon ship with six or more seasons remaining on their contracts. Chris Holtmann, departing for Ohio State despite having eight years remaining on his Butler deal, joined the following alphabetical list detailing mentors reportedly still boasting contractual obligations of more than five seasons when they left a school for greener pastures during their coaching careers:
