- Averaged 19.5 points per game in two junior college seasons for Wingate (NC) in 1950-51 and 1951-52. Named MVP in the 1951 NJCAA Tournament. Enrolled at Davidson when his junior college coach, Danny Miller, was hired by the school but eventually transferred to Furman
- Selected by the St. Louis Hawks in third round of 1956 NBA draft (rights later traded to the Cincinnati Royals but he did not play in league after entering Army).
