- NCAA consensus first-team All-American in 1942
- All-American Recognition: 1941 (Converse 3rd Team) and 1942 (Converse 2nd Team)
- Did not play in NCAA Tournament
- Averaged 11.3 points in three NIT games for 1941 third-place finisher (1-2 record)
- Signed as a free agent by the Rochester Royals of National Basketball League in 1945. Rochester franchise transferred to Basketball Association of American for 1948-49 campaign before the NBL and BBA merged to form the NBA for the 1949-50 season
- He coached his alma mater to a 24-3 record in 1946-47, which was the same season he also earned NBL Most Valuable Player honors (averaged 14.3 points in 43 regular-season and playoff games with the Rochester Royals)
- Elected to Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1969.
- NOTE: Played for freshman team with Franklin & Marshall (Pa.) in 1937-38.
