Glory Days: Thornton On Pace to Break Longest-Running School Scoring Mark

If guard Marcus Thornton avoids injury and keeps averaging 19 points per game the remainder of his senior season, he will become William & Mary's all-time leading scorer just before the start of the 2015 CAA Tournament.

Thornton is on a pace to snap the longest-running career scoring mark for universities that have always competed at the NCAA Division I level. Chester "Chet" Giermak has been the Tribe's foremost point producer since finishing among the nation's top 13 scorers each of his final three seasons from 1947-48 through 1949-50.
