- Coach of runner-up in 2010 College Basketball Invitational with Saint Louis
- Won four conference tournament titles--one in Mid-American with Ball State (1989) and three in Western Athletic with Utah (1995, 1997 and 1999)
- Assistant coach at Marquette under Al McGuire and Hank Raymonds for 12 seasons from 1971-72 through 1982-83, and with the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks under Don Nelson for one season in 1986-87
- Final Top 20 Rankings (eight: AP/UPI/USA)--1989 (18/NR/19), 1991 (10/10/12), 1993 (19/17/20), 1995 (19/18/22), 1996 (12/10/12), 1997 (2/6), 1998 (7/2) and 1999 (6/10)
