- Compiled a 95-172 record (.356) as head coach of the NBA's Golden State Warriors (end of 1979-80 season and from 1983-84 through 1985-86). Assistant coach with the Warriors, Chicago Bulls, Charlotte Hornets, Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards
- U.S. Olympic team assistant coach in 1972
- All-Americans (one): Fordham's Ed Conlin (1954 and 1955)
- Played for Fordham under Frank Adams after serving in U.S. military (Navy) during World War II. Also lettered for Brown under Charles Engle in 1944-45
- Averaged 3.5 ppg with the NBA's Boston Celtics in 1948-49.
