Patience is a Virtue: College Coaches Who Should Have Stayed Put

Contentment can be elusive. There was more "green" in the newer contracts, but the grass isn't always greener when coaches departed their old stomping grounds for the brighter lights at other Division I schools. Just ask the following mentors for whom things don't look so bright this season:

Jim Christian, Texas Christian (left Kent State)
James Green, Jacksonville State (Mississippi Valley State)
Trent Johnson, Louisiana State (Stanford)
Tod Kowalczyk, Toledo (Green Bay)
Tim O'Shea, Bryant (Ohio University)
Tom Pecora, Fordham (Hofstra)
Oliver Purnell, DePaul (Clemson)
